Letter from the Superintendent

Welcome to the Arkansas School for the Deaf and Blind.

We are so glad you are here and taking time to learn about our school community. ARDB is a place where Deaf, Hard of Hearing, Blind, and Visually Impaired students are supported, encouraged, and challenged to grow into confident learners and individuals.

Our dedicated educators and staff specialize in teaching Deaf and Blind students and understand the unique strengths and needs of every child we serve. They work closely with families to provide accessible instruction, meaningful learning experiences, and a safe, supportive environment where students can thrive.

At ARDB, we believe success looks different for every student. Our goal is to prepare students for life after school in ways that align with their interests and abilities. This may include continuing their education, entering the workforce, exploring entrepreneurship, or building independent life skills. We focus on helping students discover their strengths, build confidence, and develop the tools they need for lifelong learning.

We value strong partnerships with families and the community and believe that students are most successful when we work together. Your trust and involvement matter to us, and we are committed to walking alongside you throughout your child’s educational journey.

Thank you for being part of the ARDB family. We are proud of our students, grateful for our staff, and excited about the opportunities ahead.

Warmly,

Nicole Walsh
Superintendent
